Dr. Allison Willkom

Dr. Allison Willkom helps patients overcome foot and ankle conditions at our Downtown, Blaine, Plymouth, and St. Anthony clinics.

Dr. Willkom is board-qualified in forefoot and reconstructive rearfoot/ankle surgery with the American Board of Foot and Ankle Surgery, and is also an Associate of the American College of Foot and Ankle Surgeons.

She received her B.S. degree from Duke University, where she also competed as a scholarship track & cross-country athlete. She then graduated as valedictorian of her class from Dr. William M. Scholl College of Podiatric Medicine before going on to complete her 3-year surgical residency at Legacy Health in Portland, Oregon.

At Legacy, Dr. Willkom received comprehensive training in reconstructive and revision foot & ankle surgery, lower extremity trauma, diabetic limb salvage, and sports medicine. In her third and final year, she was granted the honor of serving as chief resident of the program.

Specializing in all aspects of foot and ankle surgery, whether it be an acute injury or a chronic condition, Dr. Willkom is committed to providing comprehensive care for all foot and ankle treatment needs.

As a working wife and mother, practicing physician, and former competitive (yet still active) athlete, Dr. Willkom appreciates the importance of healthy, functional, and pain-free feet throughout all walks of life. She recognizes the physical, mental, and emotional toll that injury and illness can take, and aims to utilize her understanding of foot and ankle pathology to maximize prevention and expedite patient healing.

Ultimately, Dr. Willkom believes that patient understanding is the key and final element to success; she strives to educate her patients on their conditions, enabling them to play an active role in their healthcare and ensuring that they feel comfortable and confident in their treatment plans.

Dr. Willkom is excited to be a transplant to Minnesota, having moved here with her husband (a Wisconsin native) and young daughter. Outside of work, she loves spending time with her family and friends, running, trying new recipes, reading, and rooting on her Duke Blue Devils.
